My Special Project

Remember when I said I was working on a special project?  And how it was taking up all my time?
It isn't the kind of project that takes fabric or thread.
It takes lots of work and cardboard!

There has been lots of sorting and sorting, and yes, even more sorting!
(and no, there are no photos of the stash....I would need a wide angle lens or something!)

The kitties were a lot of help, too!  See them supervising the sorting?

And here's Daisy!  She's helping by staying out of the way--which is the best sort of help a kitty can give. I was so happy she was doing it I didn't even fuss about her shedding all over the clean comforter.

After sorting comes the packing. Lots of packing! We've done some of it, the movers have done some of it, and there were piles like this all over the house!

This little truck just held three crates. All our worldly good ultimately filled 7 crates.
Finally all the stuff was loaded on to trucks and as we watched the trucks drive away we wondered if we'll see our things again!!  We always wonder that!

Yep, we are moving!
Where to?
There's a really big hint in the lower right corner!

We're heading to the Lone Star State!

My blogging friend Karin says we should have left a sign on the door that said--

GONE TO TEXAS!!

I really wanted to, but hubby said the Army would frown on that idea and after all, it is their house!

LOL - well I hope that you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm envious. When, and if, the good Lord sends us back to Texas, I am putting that sign on my door. My best friend just moved back there and I did send her that sign for her door, but then it turned out that her daughter was moving into the house she was devastated that her Mama was leaving so it would only have made her cry more, and I didn't want to be the cause of that! Your hubby was right, and I wouldn't want to have the entire army upset with you...or me! :)
I'm excited for your new adventure!

The note you should leave is a listing of all the things that keep breaking down at you old quarters. (O;
The Army wouldn't like that one either.

At least for a very brief time you will be closer to me. I haven't crossed the Texas border in quite some time. Possibly it is time I remedy that.

Packing and moving a is a good chance for a therapeutic sort and chuck out! But otherwise it can be painful. I hope it all went well, and you settle in quickly in Texas. Which state were you in before? I thought you were in Texas! I must be getting you CONFUSED with another blogger!
