2012 Finishes

2012 was not my year for finishing things.  As so many of us do at this time of year I find myself wondering where the year has gone. I went to Texas three times, burned my hand where I couldn't sew for almost a month and then things went wild from the first part of November to the end of the year with family trips, visiting relatives, holidays and our son's wedding.  I only finished 7 quilts, a mug rug, a table runner, tag blanket, a fabric basket and 5 pincusions this year.  Those numbers do make me a little sad, but when I look at these photos I see that I really did try new things and learn new skills. Several of the quilts I made this year were larger and more complex and many of them took much longer to complete than things I have made in past years.  I didn't finish many things, but I am very happy with what I did finish!  Best of all, most of these items were given as gifts, so now someone else can enjoy them.  A couple other activities ate up my sewing time, too, but that's a post for another day!

Here's my little parade of finishes!
Each title is a link to the post about the quilt.

This one is going to the dear lady who team teaches Sunday School with me!

This one was for my daughter.

This one I kept!  It's on the sofa right now!

This one is going to my Sister!

And this one is mine!  MINE MINE MINE!!

This one will hang in my bedroom.

This went to hubby's precious great nephew.

and so did this!

This was for a swap.

This one is in the closet waiting for spring.

This one lives in my sewing room.

This was for a swap.

This one is mine and is used all the time!

I made a little fabric basket and a pincushion for a swap and realize I never took any photos and the person who received it never took any photos and posted it to the group either!  And here it is 6 months later and I just now noticed!  It has been a BUSY year!

How about you?  Was 2012 a good year for finishes for you?

Here's to Happy Stitching in the New Year!

Staci - you've made beautiful creations! I'd say you had a wonderful year! Those are not simple quilts that can be whipped out in a couple of days. And they're all FINISHED!! Yay for you.

Wow! You have accomplished alot this past year! I love the scrappy log cabin (don't have mine finished yet) and the Sparkle Punch quilt is a knockout that I somehow missed! I think it will be on my list for 2013. I so appreciate your other accomplishment: writing this wonderful blog and inspiring the rest of us. Happy New Year!

Well. I beg to differ! It looks to me like you finished a whole bunch of yummy projects! That's quite a cheerful parade! We will always wish we had completed more...that's just the nature of the quilting beast.

No. I returned to work four days a week and with three kids aged 3-9 there was no time for a lot of quilting. I did finishe quite a few tops in 2012, but not finished complete quilts. You finished quite a bit in comparison. I love your quilts. Our fabric tastes are quite similar I think. My favourite is sparkle punch. Makes me wanna do one!
